We just had the kind of vacation dreams are made of! We spent a whole week in Florida at Walt Disney World. Nana and Papa planned this trip as a special way to celebrate their 60th birthdays. Well, it wasn’t meat to be because Papa had a medical emergency with his eyes just two days before we were set to leave. Unfortunately, they were unable to come. They insisted that we go without them. We had a grand time, but we missed them terribly. You had the time of your lives! There are SO many pictures that it’s hard to decide which ones to include here!

This fall, you all played sports! Hayden and Bennett, for you, it was basketball. Owen, you played your second season of soccer. You all had a great time. Its fun for us to watch as you gain experience and try new things.

Dear Owen,

Today, you are six! You are such a special guy! You are so incredibly smart, sensitive and articulate. You love soccer, Minecraft and reading. You bring us so much joy, Owen… one of my favorite sounds is listening to you laugh!

Tonight we ate dinner at Sweet Tomatoes and had cake and watched your birthday slideshow. We celebrated in Tucson last weekend with Grandma and Jiddoh.

Dear H, O and B,

Today is election day. This year, election season did not bring out the best in America. People were so mean to each other… especially on the internet. Sometimes people get “brave” behind their computer screens and lash out because they think nobody can really see them. Here’s what one of my favorite authors says about that: If you aren’t nice on the internet, you aren’t nice.

Tonight, Donald Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States. Many people were disappointed because he ran against Hillary Clinton, the first woman to ever be nominated for the office, and if she had been elected, it would have been historic.

I take the same image every time there is a presidential election. It’s a photo of you with the “vote here” sign and I love it because it shows how much our family changes every four years.

Also, I love these shirts you’re wearing. Kind IS cool. Never have truer words been printed on a shirt.

We always have so much fun on Halloween, and this year was no exception! Hayden, you decided to wear yur Roman Goddess costume. Owen and Bennett, you went as the Mario Bros — Mario and Luigi! We had the Burbanks over and you had the best time trick-or-treating! We also carved pumpkins this week, which was a little bit gross for you!

Friday was the annual read-a-thon at school. Owen, you wanted to be the lion from the story The Lion and the Mouse. Hayden, you wanted to be Granny from Little Red Ridinghood. You both looked absolutely adorable in your costumes! Owen, you won the costume contest for the kindergarten! I love seeing you have so much fun and I always have a blast putting together your costumes!
