We spent this week aboard the Disney Wonder! Grandma and Jiddoh, Uncle Ramsey, Aunt Lisa, Charlie, Alex and Oliver were onboard as well! Also, you had some friends from school on the boat! we had an AMAZING time!

Dear Hayden,

Today, you are TEN! We have a hard time believing that you have been in our lives for a whole decade! You’ve grown up so much this year, Hayden. You are brilliant and beautiful and we are so blessed by you!

For your birthday this year, you had a slumber party with Kylie and Alex. We also had a fun family dinner. It’s a blast to celebrate you!

Dear H, O and B,

We do A LOT around here during the summer. It would be impossible for me to write about each thing. I’ll use this entry to “dump” the rest of our summer fun! We made art like some of the masters, we swam a TON! We stayed at the Ritz in Tucson for my 20th HS reunion and participated in their awesome programming. We went to VBS at church. We had a great time playing and hanging out here at home, too! Making memories is what we do best!

You all headed back to school in the last week! Hayden, you started fourth grade. Owen, you began first grade and Bennett, you started your bonus year of Pre-K! You all have absolutely amazing teachers and we are looking forward to another stellar year!

Dear H, O and B,

We were lucky enough to spend the last two weeks on vacation in California!

We spent the first week at Uncle Kim and Jon’s house. We visited Great Grandpa Rog and had a lot of fun! You went to your first drive in movie, spent tons of time at the beach and took our usual day trips to Cayucos Beach and Morro Bay.

We spent the second week in La Jolla at a beach house with Nana and Papa. We visted a La Jolla cave, The Birch Aquarium, Torrey Pines Gliderport and La Jolla Shores Beach. It was a most excellent time!

I love traveling with you! There’s nothing like exploring new places and making memories with you!

Hear Bennett,

Today, You are five! You are such a fun kid! You are always having a good time and you remind us to take ourselves a little less seriously! You are obsessed with building structures with MagnaTiles and you love to be in the kitchen with e helping me cook.

We always do quite a few little birthday celebrations for you because we are usually traveling on your actual birthday. I’ve edited this post to include alllll of your birthday fun! We had cake and ice cream in Flagstaff with Grandma to celebrate your shared birthday. Then, we did dinner and cake with Nana and Papa, Andrea, Darryl and Lucas. On your actual birthday, we played at the beach all day and had pizza and cake with Auntie Kim, uncle Jon and Madi. When we got home from California, you had a bowling party – complete with a unicorn cake with your friends!

It’s fun to celebrate you because nobody I know celebrates life like you do!

We spent this week in Flagstaff with Grandma! We escaped some serious Phoenix heat, met the Harrs to bowl, went to the Grand Canyon and dined at Black Bart’s to celebrate Grandma and Bennett’s birthday! We had a great time!

This weekend, we went camping! We went with the families from Girl Scouts. We had fun learning new things — fire safety, knot tying, etc. as well as just enjoying being away in nature.

Today was your last day of third grade and kindergarten. You both learned so much this year under the care of great teachers! I can’t believe how quickly the years go by, now that you are in school. This was an amazing year, and I am looking forward to a spectacular summer together!

You are becoming an old pro at the whole piano recital thing! Tonight you played Cruelle DeVille and Malaguena and you did an amazing job! You put so much effort into doing this well and we couldn’t be more proud of you!
