Dear Baby,

Today we learned that you are a boy! We decided to do something a little different this time because it’s very likely (like as certain as can be) that you will be the last baby added to this family. So, we went to our ultrasound this morning and had the ultrasound tech write “boy” or “girl” on a card and put it in an envelope. Then, we dropped the envelope off next door with Erin. She baked us the most beautiful cake, and tonight BEFORE dinner (Whaaatt?? Cake before dinner???), the four of us cut into it and it was bright BLUE! At that moment, we knew we were being blessed with another handsome little gentleman! This was such a special and exciting time for our family! We are so excited to meet you, sweet baby boy.

Erin had to deliver the cake in gloves because she spilled a little food coloring on her hands and she didn’t want us to know before we got to cut the cake what color it was!

Dear Hayden,

Every few months, our church has special a special Sunday called Love in Action Sunday. On these special Sundays, our whole church family meets at church, then we get into groups and go into the community and do different projects. Today, you and Dad went. You helped back lunches for the homeless and paint the walls of a local school! You had a great time and it sure tuckered you out! It’s fun to see your enthusiasm for helping others!

Today was an absolutely lovely day! We spent a while outside this afternoon planting in the garden and playing around. It was a great time and the sunshine was warm and wonderful.

Dear Hayden,

Each year, your preschool does a Trike-A-Thon to benefit families that have needs at the school. You had a blast riding your scooter and this year the money went to two families who have moms who are fighting cancer right now. It was a fun day and and a fun way to help others!

Dear Hayden and Owen,

Today we had a really nice Valentine’s Day! Hayden, you had a party at school yesterday and you came home with your Valentine box FILLED with cards and candy! Today, we baked a cake that we enjoyed after dinner! Jackie, Madison, Andrew and Jaxson were here to enjoy it with us, too. Also, you both really enjoyed this year’s heart scavenger hunt — which ended with much needed new shoes and balls to play with! You two bring us so much love every day!
