A Field Trip

Dear Hayden,

This week, we went on a field trip with our playgroup to Cerreta’s Candy Factory for a tour — and they let each of you make your own chocolate pizza! Here are some pictures of you enjoying yourself and making your little pizza!

Love you,
Mama

Grandma’s Birthday Weekend

Dear Hayden,

We spent this weekend in Tucson with Grandma to celebrate her 70th birthday. You had a great time swimming, watching fireworks for the 4th of July (in your pajamas) and eating Grandma’s birthday cake and ice cream. Our van broke down on the way home (in Casa Grande) so we got to ride the second half of the trip home in a tow truck! You loved it. It was a hot day, so we are very glad to all be home safely!

Love you,
Mama

Vacation Bible School

Dear Hayden,

This week, we are participating in Vacation Bible School at church. You are staying in the nursery, where you are doing crafts, singing songs and going on walks! We have a great time there in the morning and then we hang out with friends afterward in the afternoons! Madison comes to VBS every year, too, so she is staying with us for the week — you love having her around — you are constantly looking for her and asking for her if she isn’t in the room!

Love you,
Mama

Your Dad is Rad!

Dear Hayden,

Your dad is RAD! He loves you so very much! You have a great time playing with him, and the two of you share so many things — you garden together and for Father’s Day, you and I got him a fish tank — which the two of you are having a splendid time tinkering with! Today, Jiddoh and Maggah are here, and then this afternoon we are barbecuing with Nana and Papa — all of us together. You are one lucky lady because you have a dad, 2 grandfathers and a great grandfather who love you like crazy.

Love you,
Mama

Camp!

Dear Hayden,

I spent last week at camp! I missed you terribly, and I was so lucky because you and Dad came up and spent the day with me on Wednesday. You loved camp!! You did a lot of exploring, you played tether ball and baseball, you played around inside an abandoned old fire truck and you bounced in the bounce house. You also got to try camp food and you got to go to evening worship — which you loved because you got to dance. I had a great time with the kids at camp, but I was so happy to get home to you!

Love you,
Mama

Dad’s Birthday Weekend!

Dear Hayden,

We headed up to Flagstaff this weekend to celebrate Dad’s birthday. Bobby and Kelly came with us and we had a GREAT time! On the way home, we stopped at a trout spot and went fishing! You loved it! Your dad is a special guy. We are very lucky to have him in our lives. It’s fun to celebrate him!

Love you,
Mama

Another Summer Day

Dear Hayden,

We are having some awesome summer days. This morning, we got up and played outside a little bit while it was still cool. Our backyard is still just dirt, so when you go out there to play, you pretty much check on your garden, ride the truck on the patio and then call it good. You sure love checking on that garden, though.

Love you,
Mama

Hannah Jane

Dear Hayden,

You have a special friend named Hannah Jane. You ask for her all the time, even when she’s nowhere in sight. You say, “Annah, Annah!” When the two of you are together, you play and have a generally good time. Randomly, throughout your time together, one of you will say, “Hug!” and then you both stop what you are doing and hug each other. I asked Erin for her camera at the beginning of playgroup today because I knew it would happen and I wanted to get a picture! So, here’s a snap shot of you hugging your good friend Hannah Jane.

Love you,
Mama
